Keep yourself away from grapefruit or grapefruit juice while using Oxycodone. Grapefruit increases the side effects of this medication.
If using the liquid formulation of Oxycodone, carefully measure your prescribed dose using a special measuring spoon or device. Try to avoid household spoon as it has a risk of improper dose measurement that can lead to overdose.
Despite the effectiveness of Oxycodone, it has a risk factor of addiction associated with it. Higher or longer doses of the medication cause dependence leading to addiction and abuse. There is a higher risk of addiction if you have a history of substance abuse (addiction to alcohol or other drugs).
Oxycodone side effects
The most frequently reported side effects of Oxycodone are dizziness, drowsiness, lightheadedness, nausea, vomiting, and constipation. Some of these side effects go with time. But if they persist for a long time or worsen with time, consult your doctor.
